About 4IR
The Fourth Industrial Revolution, 4IR, or Industry 4.0, conceptualizes rapid change to technology, industries, and societal patterns and processes in the 21st century due to increasing interconnectivity and smart automation. Changes that come forth with 4IR are more than just improvements to efficiency, but also a significant shift in industrial capitalism. In essence, 4IR is the trend towards automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies and processes which include Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), Internet of Things (IoT), Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), smart sensors and systems, cloud computing and artificial intelligence.
Going to the university should not be the immediate plan for Grade 12 students after their final examinations. They should get equipped with 21st century skills and enrich their CVs with relevant certifications. The Erudite Gap Year programme is the best at this.
